Metal RV Screen Door Latch – Bye bye plastic latch
It’s inevitable. If you use your RV screen door for any amount of time, the plastic latch on it will break. Going to your RV dealer for a replacement, they are going to sell you the same OEM style, plastic latch; and it’s going to break again. You’ll continue to spend money year in and year out.Who wants to do that? We feel like you should replace an item once. That’s when Laurie started hunting down a solution and found a metal RV screen door latch. That’s right, metal. No more worries of a wind blown slammed door breaking our latch, no more temporary fixes while we find a local dealer to purchase a new latch.
Installation was fairly quick and easy.

Our only dislike, is that only a “Universal fit” option is available, which does not always line up to all camper doors. In some cases, a slight modification may be needed, like the use of spacer washers in our installation.
There are a couple of versions available, although they are all pretty much the same. You can pick one up off of Amazon for around $20.
