Lets talk trash! It’s an everyday occurrence. For a long while our dog was none the wiser that trash is tasty. Then, one day we came home to her in a pile of bathroom trash. Our dog is trained not to enter our bathroom, but the temptation got the best of her. She has now decided that the bathroom is the best place to find snacks.The space between my toilet and the wall is tiny! We have a space about fourteen inches tall and five inches wide, depending on how tall the can is, to work with. I started my search for a trash can with a lid at stores. I found round ones, ones with easily flippable lids, etc. I even went to The Container Store to see if they had something that would work. I tried sealable dog food containers too, but they still were not skinny enough.

Then I remembered those cereal containers from when we were kids! I looked around and found that most were actually smaller than I needed and would not hold much and rattle around in my space.

I finally found a 32 cup storage dispenser that measures thirteen and a half inches by five inches and has a tightly closing lid with a tightly closing flap on the lid. This slides in neatly beside the toilet and the flap makes it easy to open and dispose of issues, but it locks tight enough that the dog does not try to get into it.

I liked this solution so much that I bought another one to keep her dog food in!
